Rumadevi has a special contribution in making the work of embroidery a means of livelihood for the people of this region, she not only revived this extinct art, but also provided opportunities for both respect and livelihood to the people through this art. Today a team of about 22,000 women has been formed under the direction of Rumadevi and this caravan is continuously increasing.
